CDL Suspension

Pursuant to Texas Transportation Code your commercial driving privilege will be disqualified for one year (three years if transporting hazardous material required to be placarded) if you refuse to submit to a test to determine your alcohol concentration or the presence in your body of a controlled substance or drug while operating a motor vehicle in a public place; or if an analysis of your breath or blood determines that you had an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more while operating a motor vehicle, other than a commercial motor vehicle, in a public place.

Does Texas suspend CDLs after a certain number of points?

You may lose your license if you accumulate too many moving violations within a certain period of time. If you commit four moving violations within 12 months or seven within 24 months, your Texas license may be suspended.

Is it possible to get my CDL reinstated in Texas?

Ann. ยง 522.082. For a CDL to be reinstated, the individual must have been disqualified for at least ten years and must meet the Department of Public Safety's requirements for reinstatement.

CDL Reinstatement In Tyler, Texas

A person who is disqualified for life under Texas Transportation Code * 522.081(d)(1) can apply to have their CDL reinstated when authorized by federal law under Texas Transportation Code * 522.082(a). According to Texas Transportation Code * 522.082(b), a person is not eligible for reinstatement unless they have been disqualified for a minimum of ten years and they meet all reinstatement requirements.

According to Texas Transportation Code * 522.082(c), when a reinstated driver is subsequently convicted of another disqualifying offense, they will become permanently disqualified and ineligible for reinstatement.
